Services Chief Engineer

Amazon Web Services | August 2024 - July 2026

Oversaw the day-to-day operations related to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Battery, and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) critical services. Supervised the NDT, Battery, and ATS engineer teams. Served as an escalation point for all Electrical Services issues within the Northern Virginia region. Coordinated quick response to prioritize preventative maintenance, ad hoc service requests, and emergent remediation relating to UPS Battery, ATS and NDT services. Supported the hiring and training processes for the Electrical Services Teams. Created and deployed new standard practices, operating procedures, and software for the Electrical Services Teams and vendor support teams. Communicated complex technical information to a non-technical audience. Continuously improved processes and performed failure mode analysis utilizing the Lean Six Sigma and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) methodologies. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of critical services with other data center operations processes and developed innovative solutions to complex problems.

Battery Services Engineer

Amazon Web Services | February 2022 - August 2024

Oversaw the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of VRLA and Lithium battery systems. Developed and implemented global battery monitoring and testing protocols to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Analyzed and synthesized battery data and trends to identify potential issues and take proactive measures. Coordinated battery replacements and upgrades per manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices. Coordinated and oversaw regular inspections, cleaning, and testing of battery systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborated with data center design teams to ensure proper sizing, layout, and integration of battery systems. Evaluated and recommended battery technologies based on data center requirements, load profiles, and energy efficiency goals. Engineering Operations Technician

Performed daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability. Monitored Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS). Assisted in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA). Performed rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
